REBT with Dr. Matweychuk
Dr. Matweychuk (pronounced Matt-wey-chuk) is a specialist in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
REBT encourages independent thinking, self-direction, emotional responsibility & accepting what cannot be changed. REBT is the pioneering form of cognitive behavior therapy developed by Albert Ellis in 1955 and which other versions of CBT have since borrowed from, been influenced by, or attempted to improve upon. REBT is problem focused and very efficient. It can be applied to problems of daily living, emotional and behavioral disorders, and coping with formally diagnosed psychiatric disorders. Problems I have treated over the course of my 30 year career as a clinical psychologist include: Depression & Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Weight and Eating Disorders, Alcohol & Substance Abuse Disorders, Anger Management, Personality Disorders, Social Skills & Assertiveness Deficits, Relationships Difficulties, Procrastination, Problems of Indulgence or Low Self-Discipline, and Career & Lifestyle Changes.
